Dr. Okoe Boye has advised some members of his party, NPP to be careful when talking about the people of Ledzokuku after he failed to retain his seat for the party, which was won by an NDC candidate.
Some members of the NPP like Afia Akoto who is a deputy CEO of MASLOC had said that for the people of Ledzokuku are proof of backward behavior for voting out Dr. Okoe Boye.
Dr. Okoe Boye reacting to her comments and that of others have asked that they do not ‘insult’ the people in his constituency just because they voted them out.
He stated that he’s a son of Ledzokuku and the folks there are his people and as such he would continue to help them with or without political power.
His full post on Facebook read:
“I have read some news in the media that seek to draw attention to some unsavory comments from friends within NPP, towards my Ledzokuku folks. I would like to urge all, who feel pained by my inability to retain the seat , to exercise restraint when it comes to expressing opinion on the recent Parliamentary elections in Ledzokuku”.
“It is ok to be disappointed in the results but no need to be despondent. It is ok to be sad momentarily but no need to be sour. These are my people and I am their son. I am committed to making the world a better place and that commitment will remain sure with or without anticipated support from my own. When the game gets tough, the best way out is to lace your boots and not to be so occupied with the attitude of your opponent. The reason for the season remains JESUS”.
