Two of Ghana’s musical heavyweights, Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy will be representing the motherland at this year’s Music of Black Origin (MOBO 2020).

These two dancehall artistes are the only Ghanaian acts who have gained nominations for this year’s edition alongside a band of Nigerian musicians.

Shatta Wale and Stonebwoy were nominated for the Best African Act category which the winner will be determined largely by the votes from the public.

A little history about the MOBO Awards is that an annual music award presentation honouring achievements in “music of black origin”, including hip hop, grime, R&B, soul, reggae, jazz, gospel, and African music.

The MOBO award which was founded by Kanya King was last held in 2017 and will be making a comeback on December 7 in London UK where deserving artistes of Black Origin will be honoured.
